Self Portrait on Expired Polaroid Film
Kelly-Ann Bobb is an analog freelance photographer based in Trinidad & Tobago and New York.
Drawn naturally to creativity, her artistic journey deepened after completing medical school, when she became captivated by the layered complexities and intentional slowness of film photography. Working exclusively in analog, Bobb embraces the medium as both process and philosophy.
She uses photography as a tool for unmasking—telling stories that might otherwise remain unseen. Her work is deeply introspective, revealing as much of herself as the subjects she photographs, and creating images that exist at the intersection of vulnerability, identity, and presence.
Analog photography is a deliberate choice in her practice, serving to affirm the existence and dignity of her subjects while honoring memory, ritual, and lived experience. Through this medium, her work has become one of her most powerful forms of creative expression.
Her photographs have been published by The British Journal of Photography, Amateur Photographer, Der Greif, Forgotten Lands, among others. Bobb’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at the SECCA Museum in South Carolina and in Verzasca, Switzerland. Her image African Spiritual has been acquired for the permanent collection of the Central Bank Museum of Trinidad and Tobago.
